Reports to: Operations & Quality Director

Job Purpose: Meet or surpass the agreed budgets by effectively leading and managing the Senior Client Engagement Consultants (SCEC). This will be measured through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales revenue, sales volumes, repeat business, client retention and employer satisfaction. The development and implementation of the employer engagement strategy is also a key success factor. As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) you will work collaboratively across the business, deputise for the OQD as required, represent the business at internal and external meetings and events and adopt a proactive approach to support the Executive team to drive business performance and plan for the future.

1. Strategic Planning

  • Business plan and business sector focus
    • Take ownership of the employer engagement strategy
    • Support the Operations & Quality Director (OQD) to develop, cascade and implement the
      annual business planning cycle, using historic quantitative and qualitative internal and external
      information, and considering AKG strategies and priorities

Reports to: Client Engagement and Experience Director

Job Purpose: The primary purpose of this role is to meet or exceed the company sales revenue targets in your sector. This will be achieved by adopting a consultative approach with clients and working closely with the relevant colleagues from Quality and Operations to develop bespoke programmes that are aligned to clients identified training needs.

As a Senior Client Engagement Consultant your primary target audience will be large employers who are apprenticeship levy payers. You will develop new business relationships and manage your accounts to ensure targets are met and there is a continuous flow of new employer opportunities and accounts are well managed to achieve regular repeat business.


As part of the management team, you will work with peers to ensure the service offer meets and exceeds client expectations, support Operations to resolve delivery issues, work with the Enrolment Administrators to achieve targets and remove barriers and bring new ideas to the table. Additionally, you will take on the role of mentor for Client Engagement Consultants, supporting them with research and sales techniques that assist them to generate learner starts in their sector.

  1. Account Management
    • Proactively manage your accounts to ensure high satisfaction levels are maintained and to maximise sales opportunities.
    • Provide up to date performance data report for your accounts.
    • Hold account management meetings at agreed intervals.
    • As a minimum formerly review progress towards the objectives agreed from the TNA and business proposal half-way through and at the end of cohort 1, if any changes are required discuss these with the relevant Operations Manager.
    • Work closely with the relevant Operations Manager to collaboratively review account performance and meet with clients.
    • Continue to plan new cohorts.
    • New TNAs may be required as the clients’ business needs change; adopt a supportive approach to keep clients engaged in the process.

  1. Quality and Compliance
    • Ensure clients are engaged and have a full understanding of their commitments, through effective and robust information, advice and guidance.
    • Ensure learner referrals are high quality, result in low levels of early leaver and high levels of achievement.
    • Support the Ofsted Nominee with the planning and preparation for inspection, by engaging with clients and learners to book appointments and prepare them for inspection.
    • Ensure all data entry meets internal and external requirements.
    • Keep up to date with relevant funding rules, including, but not exclusively eligibility and suitability.
    • Ensure employer contracts are in place and current for all your employer clients.
    • Work closely with your employer clients to support them to manage the various stages of the DAS and wherever possible gain approval for LPU to manage the data input on their behalf.
    • Support the Enrolment team with Training Plans as and when required.
    • Ensure that the employer client has a health and safety policy, that training is undertaken at induction and there are annual refreshers.
    • Where required ensure that health and safety requirements have been met, in particular for learners under the age of 18 or those with a disability or declared ill health.
    • Ensure suitable safeguarding arrangements are in place for learners under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults.

This is a home-based role; however, you will be expected to travel to meet with clients and colleagues, attend events and company meetings. The role holder will be required to have a driving licence and be able to have access to a car with business use insurance, for business purposes.

assessment decisions and practice, ensuring awarding organisation and internal standards are maintained.

Key Areas of Responsibility: Monitor the quality of tutor performance, identify tutor development needs and facilitate tutor development to maintain and improve the quality of assessment.

Job Description:

ESOL Tutor required to undertake formal scheduled teaching and to provide high quality, relevant learning opportunities which enable learners to maximise their educational, vocational and personal development potential.

Intro to Learn Plus Us

Learn Plus Us is the trading name of Simply One Stop Limited; we are an Apprenticeship and Skills training provider, approved by the DfE/ESFA on the Apprenticeship Provider and Assessment Register (APAR). Our head office is in Barnet, however our training delivery covers all nine English regions. Founded in 2003, since 2009 we have been delivering Apprenticeships and Diplomas through the Advanced Learner Loans scheme and have held various other funding contracts. In March 2020 Learn Plus Us was acquired by the Angus Knight Group (AKG) and in February 2023 we merged the Apprenticeship division from Catch22 into Learn Plus Us.

AKG is working on an EXCHANGE programme to enable employees from across the Group to participate in a job exchange with people from other companies and most importantly in other countries including Australia, Canada Sweden, Italy, and Singapore.   • Undertake observations in the workplace (either remotely or onsite) where applicable.
  • Deliver innovative functional skills training (face to face or remotely) based on learner needs and utilising all relevant resources.
  • Assess knowledge, skills, and behaviours and provide developmental feedback to learners.
  • Maintain apprentice retention and timely achievement rates in line with company expectations.
  • Ensure that employers are actively involved in progress reviews.
  • Collaborate with your colleagues to collectively ensure that Learn Plus Us training is of a consistently high standard and meets the expectations of key stakeholders.
  • Promoting the mission, vision and intent of Learn Plus Us, as well as equal opportunities, data protection, and health & safety legislative requirements.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £30,000.00-£35,500.00 per year

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of high level leadership and management.
  • Passionate about the development of new managers.
  • Proven ability to develop strong professional relationships with employers and learners. Motivating all parties to achieve the best outcome.
  • Relevant teaching or training qualification (if not held LPU is prepared to fund this for the right candidate).
  • Excellent administration, IT, and organisational skills with good experience of using MS office software.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, where there is a need to be both creative and pragmatic.
  • A team player with a positive mindset – can do attitude.
  • English and maths GCSE grade C or equivalent or higher.
  • Lifelong learner.
  • Able to work from home and travel to employer sites.

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Leadership and /or management qualification at level 5 or higher.
  • Assessors qualification as well as experience of delivering maths and English Functional Skills up to level 2.
  • Experience of group and 1-1 teaching and training.
  • Experience of delivering Apprenticeships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the ESFA funding rules.
  • A good understanding of the Ofsted EIF.
