Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship


Our Level 2 Hospitality Team Member apprenticeship is perfect for individuals working in, or wanting to work in, a range of establishments, for example; bars, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers. Specialist areas in hospitality include food and beverage service, serving alcoholic beverages, barista, food preparation, housekeeping, concierge and guest services, reception, reservations and conference and banqueting. The most important part of the role is developing fantastic ‘hospitality’ skills and knowledge such as recognising customer needs, knowing how to match them to the products and services of the business and working as part of a team.

Course overview


This apprenticehsip will cover the following areas: understanding what hospitality means; the culture of the industry and why delivering a customer experience to meet and exceed customer’s expectations is so important to hospitality businesses. Appreciating the importance of hospitality behaviours such as personal conduct, being adaptable, using initiative and communication. Knowing the range of businesses and establishments that make up the hospitality industry, and the variety of job roles and progression opportunities that are available, and more.

Learners must be aged 16+, not currently undertaking another funded programme of learning, employed a minimum of 16 hours per week, currently a resident in England, a resident in the UK for the last 3 years (unless exempt) and must have the right to live and work in the UK.

Apprentices will be required to have Level 1 English and Maths, either Functional Skills or equivalent before completing their End Point Assessment (EPA).

Progression from this apprenticeship is expected to be onto a hospitality supervisory or team leading role. Apprentices may also progress onto a Hospitality Supervisor Level 3 or Team Leader Level 3.
