Hospitality supervisors work across a wide variety of businesses including bars, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers. They provide vital support to management teams and are capable of independently supervising hospitality services and running shifts. They typically work under pressure delivering fantastic customer service and motivating a team is essential to their role.
This apprenticeship will cover and broad range of knowledge, skills and behaviour topics including: understanding own role in motivating the team to work according to the business vision and values and to achieve business targets, understanding the financial operations of hospitality businesses and knowing how to source and use financial information relating to own area of work. Understanding how to identify, plan for and minimise risks to the business. Identifying the different leadership styles and supervisory management skills which are effective in hospitality businesses, and more.
Learners must be aged 16+, not currently undertaking another funded programme of learning, employed a minimum of 16 hours per week, currently a resident in England, a resident in the UK for the last 3 years (unless exempt) and must have the right to live and work in the UK.
Apprentices will be required to have Level 2 English and Maths, either Functional Skills or equivalent before completing their End Point Assessment (EPA).
Apprentices who successfully complete this apprenticeship may progress into a hospitality management position. They could take a suitable Level 4 qualification or onto the Operations or Departmental Manager Level 5 apprenticeship.
